** Detta var en sådan sko som ”alla pratade om”, och som fick jättemycket uppmärksamhet.
Dessa släpptes samtidigt som Öresundsbron var klar, så nu behövde jag inte ta båten över till Danmark för att få tag på ett par, man kunde snabbt och enkelt ta bilen eller tåget över och shoppa, så jag ansåg att dessa var relativt jättelätta att få tag på, men ändå så var jag den enda som hade dem.
Visst, jag fick inte tag på skorna som jag ville ha, dvs Basketskorna, de som fanns där var de silvriga runner-skorna.
Men jag köpte dem för att jag ville testa tekniken.
Och jag minns så väl att alla ville veta hur det kändes med ett par skor som hade ”stötdämpare” istället för en luftkudde.
Folk trodde ju seriöst att man kunde hoppa högre med dessa skor som hade stötdämpare.
Och vad jag minns, så var de inte särskilt sköna.. inget speciellt alls.
Jag tror nästan att de kändes lite hårda.. jag minns inte, det är 20 år sedan..
Men trots det så köpte jag ännu ett par sen när de kom till Stadium (eller kanske Intersport) också.
Det var visserligen den efterlängtade basketmodellen, men jag tror att jag använde dem väldigt lite, det dröjde nog några år innan de släpptes efter de låga silvriga.

A Brief History of the Nike Shox Line
The idea of mechanical cushioning was first explored by Bruce Kilgore, the designer of the Air Force 1, way back in 1984. However, it took over 10 years for Nike Shox to come to fruition.
Back in the mid-’80s, biomechanical experiments with the goal of optimizing energy return became the focus of several Nike designers and engineers. According to Nike, they added steel springs to a running shoe’s midsole to see if it would improve running economy, and a year later they tried a multi-layer leaf-spring heel unit.
Throughout the 1980s, Nike continued experimenting with different hinges and mechanical columns, until finally, in 1997, the solution of twin plates with foam columns became Nike Shox.
The sneakers hit the retail market in big numbers by 2000 and ushered in several different builds that used the foam columns. You may remember the Nike ads from the time, which featured Gary Payton, Vince Carter, and that classic boing.

After the Shox line fanned out to include builds for basketball, running, and tennis, the shoes were everywhere. In Europe the line is still pursued by collectors, and you can see people rocking Shox nearly every day in the New York subway.
Now, Nike’s Shox system is back for 2018 with the Shox Gravity. 25 different variations on the new sneaker will release during 2018, but Nike has not announced any pricing information yet.

Och vilken besvikelse det var…
Det var verkligen verkligen inget speciellt alls..
Men, än idag, 20+ år senare, så vill min syster BARA gå i Shoxs… och jag kan inte alls förstå det..
Och det är verkligen inte ofta det släpps nya Nike Shox idag.
