Japan’s proud advanced technologies and traditional technical skills merge in the MRG-G2000HT. Its ability to receive standard time radio waves, GPS satellite signals and Bluetooth® transmissions enables it to acquire accurate time information in any location on Earth under virtually any conditions. Metal exterior surfaces are finished with a traditional kasumi-tsuchime hammering technique. And Japan Blue indigo, a representative colour in Japanese traditional craftsmanship, is applied with blue DLC coating. The true staying power of traditional beauty is embodied in this 500-piece numbered limited edition model of MR-G, the flagship series in the G-SHOCK line.

MRGG2000HT-1A, a new special edition timepiece demonstrating the best in Japanese innovation and craftsmanship. The first-ever Bluetooth® connected MR-G(Opens the MR-G website in new window)(Opens the website in new window) is handcrafted using a traditional Japanese hammer tone technique with colors inspired by a Japanese cloud dragon. The MRGG2000HT-1A timepiece features three-way time sync capabilities made possible via Bluetooth Connectivity and G-SHOCK’s GPS Hybrid Wave Ceptor technology, accurately measuring time and location from anywhere on earth. A unique app allows users to easily set world time and other watch functions directly from their smartphone. The special edition model will be on display at Baselworld from March 23-25 at the Casio booth, located in Hall 1.1 B67, B71.

This is the latest collaboration with third generation master metal craftsman Bihou Asano, who individually hammered each bezel and band using the Tsu-i-ki technique with a Kasumi finish: a traditional craft method that creates unique relief patterns through hammering. The colors found in the bezel and on the hands are reminiscent of the colors featured on a traditional cloud dragon – “Japan blue.”

Created to be the epitome of luxury and strength, the MRGG2000HT-1A titanium case and band undergo a special deep-hardening treatment that renders it five times harder than regular titanium, while the diamond-like carbon coating of the band and a sapphire glass crystal offer outstanding scratch resistance. Tough solar technology ensures stable operation even when using power hungry functions.

Each model also comes equipped with standard G-SHOCK technology(Opens the G-SHOCK technology website in new window)(Opens the website in new window) of shock resistance and 200M water resistance, as well as world time (39 cities + UTC), an LED super illuminator light, daily alarm, a full auto calendar, 24-hour second stopwatch and 24-hour countdown timer, and automatic date update capabilities – all in a 49.8mm case.

The new MRGG2000HT-1A will retail for $7,400 beginning in September 2017.
