The Most Interesting Man In The World Wears A Panerai
Mike Horn. You might not know his name, but you’ve probably heard of him before. He’s the real life version of Dos Equis’ ”The Most Interesting Man In The World” character. Blasphemy you say? Well how about this for example: in 1999 he circumnavigated the Earth along the equator, using only his feet, bicycles and small non-motorized boats.
Still not impressed? In 2006 he and his partner were the first to travel to, and reach the North Pole on foot…in total darkness. So it comes as no surprise that he has a watch branded with his name: the Panerai PAM 307.
The Panerai 307 Luminor 1950 Pangaea Submersible Depth Gauge was a special edition timepiece produced in 2008. A limited edition run of 500 pieces, the PAM 307 is comprised of a titanium case, is 47mm in true Panerai fashion, comes on a personalized rubber strap, and features the Panerai OP XV movement. Water resistant to 120 meters, the depth gauge is activated by a pusher at 10 o’clock, with functions of maximum depth reached, current depth indicator, and battery power remaining.
The PAM 307 also features Horn’s name engraved on the caseback, as well as “PANGAEA”, the expedition Horn created to teach young explorers about the effects humans have had on this planet’s ecosystem, and about conservation efforts for future generations.
