Det stör mig att de hade stavat RENNtech med 1 N i hela texten så jag klistrar in texten med RENNtech rättstavat.

Car and Driver’s legendary 1994 SuperTuner Showdown:
Aftermarket Monsters. This was the era when RENNtech’s 500SL 6.0 went head-to-head with the industry’s best, proving that Hartmut’s vision for high-performance Mercedes-Benz tuning was in a league of its own. This is a rare glimpse into a private archive of how automotive journalism used to take place.
Under the hood of the RENNtech 500SL 6.0 lies a highly modified M119 V8, bored and stroked from 5.0 to 6.0 liters, producing 440 horsepower—a major leap from the stock 322 hp. The upgrades included high-lift camshafts, an extrude-honed intake manifold, free-flowing headers, high-performance catalytic converters, and a low-restriction air intake, all working in unison to optimize airflow and combustion. Power was channeled through a beefed-up Mercedes-Benz 722.3 four-speed automatic transmission, feeding into a 2.47:1 limited-slip differential for enhanced high-speed stability.
The chassis was transformed with stiffer and lower springs, thicker anti-roll bars, firmer Bilstein dampers, and reinforced bushings, while the braking system was upgraded with larger, high-performance calipers and rotors to ensure fade-resistant stopping power. The Pirelli P-Zero tires-245/40ZR18 in the front and 275/35ZR18 in the rear-mounted on lightweight O.Z.
Racing wheels (8.5-inch front, 10-inch rear), provided incredible grip, allowing the SL to corner at 0.93 g.
To shave 400 pounds off its curb weight, RENNtech replaced the stock seats with Recaro shell-type racing seats, removed excess soundproofing, and eliminated the convertible top and its complex hydraulic system. These refinements helped launch the 500SL to 60 mph in just 4.6 seconds, with a quarter-mile time of 13.0 seconds at 111 mph and an electronically limited 6200 rpm redline pushing it to 182 mph. Braking performance was equally impressive, with a 70-0 mph stopping distance of just 161 feet. #RENNteched #RENNtech #RENNtechClassics #RENNtechArchive #CarAndDriver

RENNtech 500SL 🔥
Under the hood lies a V-8, punched out from 5.0 to 6.0 liters and fitted with headers, hotter cams, an extrude-honed intake manifold, a low-restriction air-cleaner, and catalysts that flow more freely. The result is 440 hp, which flows through a beefed-up four-speed automatic to a 2.47:1 limited-slip differential (stock is 2.65).
Feyhl beefed up the SL’s underpinnings with stiffer and lower springs. thicker anti-roll bars, firmer Bilstein shocks, harder bushings, and beefier brakes and Pirelli P-Zero tires, 245/40-18s in front and 275/35-18s in the rear on 8.5 and 10.0-inch-wide O.2. wheels. – Car and Driver, February 1994
